How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file placed on your device that helps analyse web traffic and remember things about your visit. Cookies let web applications respond to you as an individual — the site can adjust to your preferences by remembering information about how you've used it.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse webpage traffic and improve the site to better meet customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis, and the data is then removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by showing us which pages are useful and which aren't. A cookie doesn't give us access to your device or any information about you other than the data you choose to share.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept them, but you can usually change your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. Note that declining cookies may prevent you from getting the full benefit of the site.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other sites of interest. Once you follow a link away from ChefSmart, please note we have no control over the destination site. We can't be responsible for the protection or privacy of any information you provide on those sites, and they aren't governed by this privacy statement. Have a look at the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

Controlling your personal information

You can restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

• When filling in a form on the site, look for the box you can tick to indicate that you don't want the information used for direct marketing.
• If you've previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing, you can change your mind at any time by emailing us at sales@chefsmart.co.nz.

We will not sell, distribute, or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required to by law.

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to request that any incorrect information be corrected. If you'd like to make either request, or if you believe any information we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, email us at sales@chefsmart.co.nz and we'll respond as soon as possible.
